Second full day of trip

On the Bridgewater Canal (Main Line), at Metrolink or Light Railway Bridge No 96 (half way between Castlefield Junction and Stretford - Waters Meeting). This is 3 miles, 2¼ furlongs and 16 locks of narrow canals, and 2 miles, 1¾ furlongs and 9 locks of broad canals; a total of 5 miles, 4 furlongs and 25 locks and will take 6 hours 45 minutes. Today's journey involves 1 moveable bridge; 3 small aqueducts or underbridges and 1 tunnel. You will pass through Clayton Locks, through Beswick Locks, through Ancoats Locks and through Deansgate Tunnel.

Third full day of trip

On the Leeds and Liverpool Canal (Main Line - Wigan to Leeds), at Wigan Junction. (Turn here tonight or tomorrow morning).

This is 19 miles, 6¼ furlongs and 2 locks of broad canals and will take 6 hours 45 minutes. Today's journey involves 1 moveable bridge and 5 small aqueducts or underbridges.

Fourth full day of trip

On the Bridgewater Canal (Main Line), at Metrolink or Light Railway Bridge No 96 (nearly at Castlefield Junction). This is 19 miles, 6¼ furlongs and 2 locks of broad canals and will take 6 hours 46 minutes. Today's journey involves 1 moveable bridge and 5 small aqueducts or underbridges.

Fifth full day of trip

On the Ashton Canal, at Fairfield Swing Bridge No 15 (two thirds of the way between Ducie Street Junction and Dukinfield Junction). This is 3 miles, 3¾ furlongs and 16 locks of narrow canals, and 2 miles, 1¾ furlongs and 9 locks of broad canals; a total of 5 miles, 5¼ furlongs and 25 locks and will take 6 hours 45 minutes.
